I had the pleasure of taking Martin, Johanna, and David fishing here on Lake Okeechobee a few days ago and we had a blast. David and Johanna are from South America and this was the first time they had been fishing on Lake Okeechobee, David on the other hand is from the Tampa area, this was also his first trip on Lake Okeechobee.
The bite was slow with light winds early in the morning and the wind picked up around 9:00 am as did the fish. We ended the day with 25 fish and mixed in several nice fish in the 3-5 lb range. David caught the biggest fish of the day with one of the last shiners in the livewell. We caught a few doubles and even caught a triple with all three fish being over 3lbs.
Another great trip here on Lake Okeechobee! Fishing should progressively get better as we move into some cooler weather in the coming weeks.
