As of late instead of fishing it’s been more like catching here on Lake Okeechobee. Both artificial and live bait fishing has been second to none. Anglers of all skill levels are finding great success here on Lake Okeechobee. My recent trips have ranged from 15 to 100+ fish, with 15 being the lowest number in several weeks.
On 4-8-13 Troy Morris from KY fished with me (2nd time fishing with us). Troy caught fish after fish after fish after fish. Oh and did I mention some big girls mixed in as well. We fished 8 + hours and landed over 100 fish with two being over 7 lbs and dozen of fish in the 3 to 5 lb range. We fished three different areas with one being a total bust while the others resulted in great numbers and great sizes. “There is a fish on every cattail” (Troy Morris) after catching about 25 fish in about 30 cast, however, the best quote came about two minutes into the morning “BLAKE….BLAKE…. GET THE NET!!!! SHE IS A GIANT” (Troy Morris). Great times and great memories, as this is a day for the memory bank.
