Talk about a great weekend of fishing, Capt. Mel Stone caught big ones and lot’s of them. Daryl and Gene Lightsey from Texas found great success here on the Big O. Gene caught a 11 lb 4 oz giant his first day on Okeechobee and followed it up by catching a 12 lb 4 oz monster on his second day. The 3rd and final day of the trip Capt. Mel put these guys on some more quality fish catching fish in the 6 – 8 lb range.
Lake Okeechobee is starting to show why it is the best bass fishing lake in the country and I can’t wait to see what the coming weeks bring as the big females continue to make there way in into the spawning areas.
