Bass fishing is steadily getting better by the day. The weather has been stable with lows in the mid 60’s and highs in the upper 70’s, with winds mostly out of the north at 5-10 mph. The water is clean from Henry Creek to J and S with lots of bass being caught using a Trixie Shark in Gold Digger color or a skinny dipper in a copperfield color in the early morning hours. Keep a good ole rattle trap on the front deck as there has been some schools of fish showing up throughout the morning crushing bait just off the grass line. As the sun gets up make sure you have either a senko or fluke tied on. A 10″ worm is working as well. Fish the soft plastic top-water baits in and around the pencil reeds while fishing the slower soft plastics around bull rush. The higher the sun the thicker the clump.
Remember Dreams Come True Here on Lake Okeechobee. Check out some great pictures of Captain Mike Jones on a recent afternoon trip. All these fish were caught on topwater.
